Pat’s family stayed in Cabin 7686 and this is a verandah cabin. He liked his room choice. They didn’t use the verandah very much and would probably choose an oceanview category next time. Look at pricing because it may not be very much of a charge to go between an oceanview to a verandah.
This cruise the day for Star Wars was Wednesday . Early in the morning, they started with Imperial announcements warning of rebels aboard. They showed Episode 7: The Force Awakens in 3D. They got to meet and greet with C3PO and R2D2. The fireworks were with the Star Wars music. Meals were themed to Star Wars as well.
The family only did one shore excursion and that was in Grand Cayman with Stingray City. You take a boat out to a sandbar. You then get out on a sandbar and the tour guides bring out stingray food to lure them over. You can then swim with stingrays all around you. His children enjoyed it. He was disappointed they didn’t get to feed the stingrays themselves.
At Cozumel, they stayed on the ship to enjoy the pools with low crowds. On Castaway Cay they enjoyed the beach and the food.
Pat’s tips for cruisers.
- Book early to save money
- Pack half of what you think you need.
- Have fun. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Have a great vacation.
If you want to go on a Star Wars Cruise, they are returning in 2017 for Jan – April sailings. Announcement Link.
