FastPass+ Strategies
You can make ride reservations at 60 days in advance for resort guests or 30 days in advance for non-resort guests.
In advance, you can make 3 FastPass+ selections, but when you are in the park you can go to a kiosk (or on the My Disney Experience App) to make additional selections.
We tend to make our selections in advance for about 2 hours after park opening and then grouping the times as close as we can after that so there is plenty of time to get extra selections later in the day.

Touring Plans has their opinion on what is a good selection and one that is not necessarily needed. Here is some attractions that rarely need FastPass+ :  Dumbo, Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor, Under the Sea : Journey of the Little Mermaid.

Do you recommend any specific touring strategy?
Know your family’s must-do attractions.  Make those a priority.  Get to the park 30-45 minutes before park opening. That first couple of hours the sleepy-heads are still at the resort and you can ride attractions with a minimal wait. If Fantasyland is important, try to focus on those early in the morning and the mountains.  Afternoon breaks can really help manage the energy level for the day.

What quick-service location is your favorite?
I am a fan of Be Our Guest for 2 reasons.  The setting is amazing.  Nicely themed and even for breakfast and lunch you can make Advanced Dining Reservations.   I like the setup.  You order, pay, and then go find a table.  Once at the table you then have your food brought to you.  I hate walking around with a tray of food, looking for a table.

What is your favorite table service dining location?
Crystal Palace is a great choice for those with small children and wants a character meal buffet.  However,  we think the best choice is to use the monorail to eat at one of those resorts.

Spots to watch the 3pm parade – Festival of Fantasy?
Being in the hub is a really great location.  Especially now with the expansion, there is plenty of great spots to watch the parade,  Kim’s family is typically back in Liberty Square.  When you are walking from the castle hub and then past Sleepy Hollow treats.  We are usually there near the corner.  If we are hoping to make a run for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad afterward we will go further back into Frontierland to watch.

Spots to watch the fireworks.
Again the hub is really great.  If you are wanting to leave the park afterward you need to position yourself on Main Street closest to the exit or else the crowds will trample you.

Favorite Magic Kingdom Memory.
Kim’s – Meeting Anna and Elsa with her boys.
Angie’s – Eating at Cinderella’s Royal Table.

Weekly DIStractions
#ThanksShanghai – Micechat.com wrote an article about the cutbacks at the Disneyland Resort caused by the mess that is Shanghai Disneyland.  The article references that cast members were taking to social media with the #ThanksShanghai to voice their complaints.  Of course, I had to check it out.  Along with the legitimate complaints, the Disney community had to have a little fun with it as well.
